A video that has now gone viral depicts a teenager brandishing a knife at a Brooklyn NYC Subway which prompts a police officer to draw a firearm on him.

The conflict appeared to be happening between a 13-year-old teenager wearing jeans and a grey hoodie and a group of other children at the Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue subway station on Monday evening, as shown in a video shared on social media.

A group is approached by a nearby officer who witnessed the altercation and shouted, Drop the knife! as seen in the footage.

As soon as the police officer aimed his gun at the middle-schooler’s head, the children quickly dispersed. The middle-schooler promptly dropped the knife and raised his hands.

Police sources stated that he was detained by the police and subsequently handed over to his parents later that evening.

The caption on a video that garnered 12.1 million views on X Thursday evening stated, The police officer possibly rescued him from death.

The teenager was visibly shaken but unharmed after the incident, according to witnesses at the scene.

A bystander who recorded the event stated that it was a tense and frightening situation.
