Ohio Teacher Cries After Judge Sentenced Her To A Week

A Ohio teacher who used to work at North Ridgeville City Schools and had admitted guilt to offenses linked to an incident with her former partner has received her sentence at Cuyahoga County Court.

During the hearing, a tense confrontation occurred between the judge and her defense lawyer.

Hannah Freeman, aged 27 and a former fourth-grade teacher at Ranger High-Tech Academy, was given a seven-day jail term and 18 months of community control by Judge David Matia on Thursday.

Freeman was sentenced after admitting to disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and possessing criminal tools.

Judge Matia described it as an unusual breakup between professionals, stating that Freeman’s behavior, as shown in the pre-sentence investigation, was concerning.

She was instructed not to contact the victim, wear a GPS device during house arrest with work release for 90 days, and undergo mental health counseling to set healthy boundaries.
