Polk County, Florida — A sweeping multi-agency undercover operation in Central Florida has led to the arrest of 266 individuals in what authorities describe as one of the largest targeted enforcement efforts in recent years.
The operation, dubbed “Polk Around and Find Out,” was conducted across Polk County and focused on combating human trafficking, prostitution-related offenses, and the exploitation of minors.
According to law enforcement officials, the sting involved undercover investigators posing in online and real-world environments used to solicit illegal sex-related activity.
Over the course of the operation, hundreds of suspects allegedly attempted to engage in illicit conduct, leading to their arrest.
Authorities said the operation also resulted in the identification of multiple potential trafficking victims.
These individuals were reportedly provided with support services and removed from harmful situations as part of the investigation.
Officials emphasized that while the majority of arrests were related to prostitution charges, a smaller group of suspects were accused of attempting to engage in illegal sexual activity involving minors.
Those cases remain under investigation and may result in additional charges.
Law enforcement leaders described the operation as part of an ongoing effort to target human trafficking networks and deter individuals seeking to exploit vulnerable populations.
“This operation sends a clear message that exploitation will not be tolerated in our community,” officials said in a statement.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was among the agencies involved in coordinating the sting, working alongside regional and state partners to carry out the large-scale enforcement effort.
Further details, including the identities of those arrested, are expected to be released as cases move forward through the court system.
