New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing criminal charges following an alleged incident earlier this month.
Court records indicate Diggs has been charged with a felony count of strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery related to an incident that occurred on December 2, 2025.
Diggs’ legal team appeared in Dedham District Court recently and requested that portions of the police report be sealed. A formal arraignment is scheduled for January 23, 2026.
Neither Diggs nor his representatives have publicly commented beyond the legal filings, but the Patriots organization issued a statement saying they are aware of the allegations and that Diggs denies them. The NFL has also confirmed it is monitoring the situation closely.
This marks a serious legal development for Diggs, who has been a key player for the Patriots since joining the team. The matter remains under investigation, and Diggs is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
As this is an ongoing legal case, updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
