Serial Butt-Sniffer Arrested Again in Burbank

A man, who has a history of multiple arrests for sniffing women’s behinds in public, was arrested once more this week for the same offense.

Calese Carron Crowder, aged 38, was apprehended on Tuesday by Burbank Police Department officers at the Walmart within the Empire Center shopping complex positioned on Victory Place.

Police initially arrived at the Nordstrom Rack in the shopping center after receiving a report about a suspicious man hanging around the women’s department.

Upon arrival, officers were notified that the suspect had departed from the department store; however, he was subsequently found shortly thereafter at the Walmart located in the adjacent parking lot.

Officers utilized the store’s security camera system to track the man as he navigated different departments. They then witnessed him pursuing a female customer into the women’s department. While behind the woman, the man was observed engaging in inappropriate behavior by sniffing her buttocks.

The man was approached by the police and subsequently taken into custody. It was later disclosed that he was Calese Crowder, a Glendale resident and a registered sex offender.

Crowder is currently on active parole and has a documented history of similar arrests for similar crimes.

Police proceeded to question Crowder regarding his actions, but he remained silent, invoking his right to legal counsel. Subsequent investigation revealed that Crowder had been released from prison just six months prior, raising concerns about the efficacy of the parole system.

Authorities are working on building a case against Crowder, considering his prior convictions and the severity of his latest offense.

The incident has sparked discussions about enhancing security measures in shopping centers to prevent such occurrences in the future. Additionally, counseling and support services are being offered to the victim to help her cope with the traumatic experience.

He is presently being held by the police while awaiting charges for loitering with intent to commit a crime. A bail of $100,000 has been assigned, and his next court appearance is scheduled for August 1.
