Teen Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting Inside McDonald’s Over Wrong Order

ATLANTA, Georgia A 19-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a dispute inside a McDonald’s restaurant in southwest Atlanta turned deadly, leaving a mother of four dead.

LawAndCrime just obtained the official Bodycam footage of officers responding to a shooting around 2:42 p.m. on December 27, 2023, at a McDonald’s located on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW, When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound inside the restaurant.

The victim, later identified as Tamanika Woods, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries.

Investigators say the shooting followed an escalating argument between customers inside the restaurant, reportedly connected to a dispute over a food order. During the confrontation, Woods became involved in the dispute before gunfire erupted.

Witnesses told local media that several people inside the restaurant restrained the suspected shooter until police arrived, preventing her from fleeing the scene.

Police later arrested T’Niya Evans, 19, in connection with the incident.

Evans was taken into custody and booked into the Fulton County Jail. Authorities say she faces multiple charges, including:

  • Murder

  • Aggravated assault

  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony

  • Theft by receiving stolen property

Court records show Evans was later denied bond during an initial court appearance.

Friends and family described Woods as a devoted mother of four children who was deeply loved by those around her.

A friend told reporters that Woods was known for being “a great person” and a caring, family-oriented mother whose loss has devastated loved ones.

The Atlanta Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering evidence and witness statements.

The McDonald’s location where the shooting occurred later reopened, and authorities confirmed that no children were inside the restaurant during the incident.

Officials have not released additional details about what specifically triggered the confrontation.
