Jacquees Bonds Out, Police Say He Was Found Passed Out Drunk In Jeep.

R&B singer Jacquees is back home after spending time behind bars in South Florida, but new details surrounding his arrest are raising even more questions.

The 32-year-old singer, whose real name is Rodriguez Jacquees Broadnax, was arrested Sunday, September 27, in Hollywood, Florida, after authorities reportedly found him passed out inside a Jeep Gladiator.

According to details from the arrest report cited by WPLG Local 10 police and firefighters responded around 8 a.m. to the area of North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard after receiving a report about a man who appeared to be unconscious inside a vehicle.

When first responders arrived, Jacquees was reportedly asleep inside the Jeep.

Authorities allegedly tried several times to wake him up, including tapping on the vehicle and attempting to get his attention. According to the report, those attempts were unsuccessful.

Firefighters eventually used a window punch to gain access to the vehicle.

Even after getting inside, authorities reportedly said Jacquees remained asleep.

He was then placed on a stretcher and moved into a fire rescue vehicle so he could be taken for medical evaluation.

That’s reportedly when the situation took a turn.

According to the arrest report, an officer noticed an odor of alcohol coming from Jacquees. A firefighter also allegedly told police that the singer had become combative and was attempting to get out of the back of the rescue vehicle.

Jacquees reportedly told an officer that he needed to use the bathroom and asked the officer to move.

The report alleges that when the officer placed a hand on Jacquees’ arm, the singer struck the officer’s arm.

Police then took him into custody.

Jacquees was booked into the Broward County Main Jail on three charges: driving under the influence, battery on a law enforcement officer/firefighter/EMT, and resisting or obstructing an officer without violence.

Jacquees Bonds Out

After initially being held while awaiting his court appearance, Jacquees appeared in bond court Monday.

A judge set his total bond at $3,500, according to reports. He subsequently bonded out of jail.

The singer’s release comes as additional questions remain about exactly what happened before police arrived and what occurred inside the fire rescue vehicle.

There has been online discussion about body-camera footage from the incident, but as of this writing, a full official release of the body-camera video has not been independently verified. The details currently being reported come primarily from the arrest report and local reporting.

Jacquees has also reportedly spoken about the situation after leaving jail. According to reporting surrounding video of his release, the singer made a bizarre comment about the incident, saying “It was AI” and indicating that he believes the case will ultimately be dropped. He also reportedly referenced body-camera footage when discussing what happened.

The Charges Are Still Just Allegations

While the arrest report provides authorities’ version of events, Jacquees has not been convicted of any of the charges.

An arrest does not mean someone is guilty, and the allegations will have to be addressed through the court system.

The DUI charge also does not establish that Jacquees was legally intoxicated while operating the vehicle. The circumstances surrounding when he allegedly consumed alcohol, whether the vehicle was being driven at the time, and other details would have to be established through evidence and the legal process.

For now, the biggest confirmed development is that Jacquees has been released on bond following the South Florida arrest.

And if the body-camera footage is eventually released, it could provide a much clearer picture of what happened between Jacquees, police and firefighters before he was taken into custody.

StreetAddictz will continue following this story as more information becomes available.

Jacquees is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
