Teens Charged With Murder After Sandbag Thrown From Overpass kills A Man.

Four teenagers have been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Marquise Byrd that died from injuries after a sandbag came crashing through the window of a car he was in.

Marquise of Michigan was sitting in the passenger seat when a construction sandbag tossed from an Interstate 75 overpass in Toledo.

Byrd died from his injuries at a Toledo hospital now the underage teens between the ages of 13 and 14 were charged last week with felonious assault after police said they deliberately dropped the bag

Following the death, the teens’ charges were upgraded to include murder and felony vehicular vandalism.

The teenage boys have not been identified because they are juveniles.

Detectives determined the falling sandbag was not an accident, but a deliberate act and probable cause to charge the juveniles was established.

Byrd was engaged and has a 1-year-old child, was riding in his friend’s vehicle the night of the accident.

The driver who was not injured pulled over and frantically called 911.

The teens denied the charges against them at a detention hearing on Wednesday. They are all being held without bail at the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center in Toledo.
