Two Teens Accused of Stealing $260K G-Wagon Before Wild Police Chase .

Two teenage boys are facing multiple felony charges after investigators say they attempted to break into luxury vehicles in Miami Beach before stealing a $260,000 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon in Kendall and crashing it during a police pursuit in Broward County.

According to reports from WSVN 7News, the suspects, ages 14 and 16, were arrested Wednesday night, October 14, following a series of incidents that began in broad daylight in Miami Beach.

Authorities say the investigation involves attempted vehicle burglaries, the alleged theft of an expensive luxury SUV, and a dramatic crash that left another vehicle carrying a mother and her two children damaged.

According to investigators, the first incident happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday near the 3400 block of Chase Avenue in Miami Beach.

Home surveillance footage reportedly captured three masked individuals arriving in a red Tesla sedan before jumping out and attempting to get inside several vehicles parked in a residential driveway.

Among the vehicles targeted were a Mercedes-Benz Maybach and a white Lincoln. However, the vehicles were locked, preventing the suspects from getting inside.

Investigators said the group eventually abandoned the attempt and left the area in the Tesla.

The incident left one homeowner shaken, particularly because the attempted burglaries happened in the middle of the afternoon while families were going about their daily routines.

Speaking with WSVN, the homeowner said she and her husband have four young children who regularly move in and out of the house. She explained that the children were at school when the suspects appeared, but the situation could have turned out differently had they been home.

The surveillance footage also reportedly showed a third individual moving toward a neighboring property as the other two attempted to access the luxury vehicles.

Authorities believe three people were involved in the attempted burglaries, although two have been arrested.

Detectives Say Teens Stole a $260,000 Mercedes G-Wagon

Investigators say the alleged activity did not stop in Miami Beach.

Several hours after the attempted burglaries, detectives linked the teenagers to the theft of a bronze 2027 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon from a residence on Southwest 136th Street in the Kendall area of Miami-Dade County.

The luxury SUV was valued at approximately $260,000.

The vehicle’s owner reportedly contacted Mercedes-Benz and was able to track the SUV as it traveled north on Florida’s Turnpike toward Broward County.

Authorities eventually located the vehicle in the Hollywood area, where officers attempted to stop the SUV.

Video shared by Only In Dade showed the G-Wagon traveling along the roadway with multiple police vehicles following behind it.

As the SUV approached a red light near North Park Road and Sheridan Street, the driver appeared to attempt to squeeze between vehicles stopped in traffic, striking them in the process.

The situation ended with the stolen luxury SUV crashing onto a blue SUV occupied by a mother and her two children.

Thankfully, NBC 6 reported that the family did not suffer any injuries in the collision. However, the crash could have had far more serious consequences, considering the number of people on the road and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The footage quickly drew attention online as viewers watched the expensive SUV attempt to maneuver through traffic with police following closely behind.

The two teenagers were taken into custody in Broward County shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office’s Auto Theft detectives investigated the case alongside information gathered about the attempted burglaries in Miami Beach.

The 14-year-old, who is from Fort Lauderdale, gave detectives a confession regarding his alleged involvement. The 16-year-old, who is from Sunrise, was identified by the G-Wagon’s owner as the person who allegedly stole the vehicle, according to the report.

The two teenagers are facing multiple felony charges connected to the investigation. Reported charges include burglary-related offenses, attempted burglary of a vehicle, grand theft, and traveling across county lines with the intent to commit burglary.

A third suspect believed to have participated in the Miami Beach incidents remained at large in WSVN’s report.

Meanwhile, the G-Wagon’s owner  said that he was waiting to learn when his wife’s purse and other belongings left inside the vehicle could be recovered.

The case has raised concerns about the targeting of expensive vehicles in residential neighborhoods and the potential danger that can follow when stolen cars are driven recklessly through busy streets.

What reportedly began as an unsuccessful attempt to enter locked luxury vehicles escalated into an investigation involving a high-value SUV, a police pursuit, and a crash that damaged a vehicle carrying a family.

Authorities have not publicly established the full extent of the third suspect’s alleged involvement in the later events.

The teenagers’ arrests mark a significant development in the investigation, but the allegations remain subject to the legal process. Both suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
