Tyreek Hill’s divorce battle has moved into a courtroom, with the NFL star facing serious allegations from his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill, during an ongoing civil trial in Miami.
The trial began with opening statements from both sides, with Vaccaro’s attorneys accusing Hill of repeatedly becoming physical with her during their marriage. Hill’s defense pushed back hard, arguing that the case is ultimately about money and emphasizing that police officers who responded to reported incidents did not make arrests.
Vaccaro is seeking compensatory and punitive damages from Hill. She has alleged that the former couple’s relationship became increasingly volatile and that Hill physically assaulted her on multiple occasions.
During her testimony, Vaccaro described one alleged confrontation involving her wedding ring and jewelry.
According to her testimony, Hill wrestled with her over the ring before allegedly tackling her onto a bed. She also accused him of pulling jewelry from her neck during the confrontation.
“I was crying… terrified,” Vaccaro testified, according to courtroom coverage. She also alleged that Hill had been physically abusive toward her repeatedly, saying, “He’s been abusing me every other week.”
Those allegations are being strongly disputed by Hill’s legal team.
During opening statements, Hill’s attorneys argued that the evidence does not support Vaccaro’s claims and pointed to previous police responses involving the couple. His defense emphasized that officers from three different departments investigated reported marital disputes but did not arrest Hill.
Hill’s attorney, Christi Bright, told jurors that the officers who responded were in a position to document what they saw at the time of the incidents. According to Court TV’s courtroom report, Bright argued that none of the responding officers found a strike, bruise or other physical mark that supported an arrest.
The defense also pointed to Vaccaro’s divorce filings, arguing that her original petition did not contain the domestic-violence allegations and that the accusations were added later.
Vaccaro’s attorneys presented a very different picture to the jury.
Her lawyer argued that many of the alleged incidents happened privately, meaning there would not necessarily be photographs or independent witnesses documenting what happened inside the couple’s home.
The lawsuit reportedly involves eight alleged incidents of abuse during the marriage. Previous court filings included accusations that Hill pushed, grabbed and restrained Vaccaro during arguments, including disputes surrounding a proposed postnuptial agreement. Hill has denied the allegations.
One of the issues at the center of the dispute involves a postnuptial agreement that Vaccaro said Hill wanted her to sign after their November 2023 marriage. She testified that conversations about the agreement frequently turned into arguments.
Vaccaro’s attorneys have also pointed to an April 2025 incident that preceded the couple’s divorce proceedings. Police were called to the couple’s home following a domestic disturbance, and Vaccaro filed for divorce shortly afterward. No criminal charges were filed from that incident.
The civil case is separate from any criminal prosecution. Hill has not been criminally charged over the allegations being litigated in this case, and the court has not made a final finding that he committed the alleged acts.
The NFL is also separately reviewing the allegations under its Personal Conduct Policy. NBC Sports reported Monday that the league’s investigation remains active as Hill’s legal situation continues to unfold.
Hill’s situation has attracted additional attention because of his previous legal history, but those earlier matters are separate from the current civil allegations.
For now, the Miami courtroom has become the latest battleground between Hill and Vaccaro as both sides present their competing versions of what happened during their marriage.
Vaccaro’s testimony is expected to be followed by additional evidence and testimony as the civil trial continues.
Hill’s attorneys maintain that the allegations are not supported by the evidence, while Vaccaro’s legal team is asking jurors to believe her account of what she says happened behind closed doors.
No final verdict has been reached, and the allegations remain disputed as the trial continues.
