A young woman in St. Augustine, Florida was captured on video fighting for her life during an attempted kidnapping robbery.
Emma Marine, an 18-year-old, successfully defended herself against her assailant, who has been apprehended, and is prepared to share her account of the incident.
Marine reported that 31-year-old Theodore Tundidor entered the smoke shop where she was employed and took cigarettes and vapes valued at $270.
The clerk tried to prevent his exit by obstructing the front door. But he seized her by the neck and shoulder, compelling her out into the parking lot.
Surveillance video recorded a woman from Florida struggling to protect herself when a man, who had allegedly been stealing in St. Augustine, tried to push her into his vehicle during the daytime.
Investigators stated that Tundidor took the truck from Jacksonville and traveled south to St. John’s County on June 29th. During his time there, he reportedly engaged in multiple thefts at a nearby Walmart before proceeding to the store.
He seized her once more, attempting to force her back into the truck. I think he fled out of fear because she refused to stop resisting, while I stood nearby shouting. Eventually, I managed to bring her into my car, and we sought refuge inside Subway until law enforcement showed up, she recounted. It was a frightening ordeal throughout.
Crime and safety professionals emphasize that the victim followed all the correct procedures to endure the brutal confrontation.
Tundidor got stopped by the police and was taken into custody. He is charged with robbery, battery, and fleeing from the police.
Emma Marine stated that she lost her job as a result of the incident when she spoke out.
During the police interrogation, Tundidor refused to confess to the crimes he was accused of committing.
His lawyer advised him to remain silent until further legal advice could be sought.
After a lengthy trial, Tundidor was found guilty on all charges and was sentenced to a term of imprisonment.
