Walmart Employee Says Co-Worker Pointed Gun at Her During Lunch Break..

A Walmart employee in West Virginia allegedly experienced a terrifying situation involving one of her co-workers after what reportedly began as a conversation during a lunch break.

According to police, the incident happened at a Walmart store in Fayetteville, West Virginia, where a female employee told authorities she was sitting in her car with co-worker Byron Shelton, 22, during her lunch break on August 23.

The woman reportedly told police that Shelton became emotional while discussing problems involving his girlfriend and allegedly said he wanted to take his own life. According to the criminal complaint, Shelton then allegedly pulled out a handgun and asked the woman if she had ever had a gun pointed at her before.

Police said Shelton allegedly removed the magazine from the firearm before pressing the gun against the woman’s leg.

After the two returned to work, the woman claimed Shelton continued making her uncomfortable by allegedly following her through the store while she stocked shelves. She reportedly became concerned enough to have another employee contact management about the situation.

However, police said the alleged incidents did not end there.

According to authorities, after both employees finished their shifts, the woman met with Shelton again in his vehicle so they could continue their conversation. During that encounter, Shelton allegedly reached over, grabbed the woman by her throat and squeezed before later apologizing.

The woman reported the alleged incidents to police several days later, on August 27.

Shelton was charged with battery and brandishing a deadly weapon, both misdemeanors, according to reports. He was arrested and later released after posting a $1,000 bond.

The allegations have drawn attention because of the disturbing claims that the woman was allegedly threatened during a lunch break before being followed through the aisles of the store while attempting to work.

As with any criminal case, the charges against Shelton are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
