White venture capitalist loses office lease

A white venture capitalist got his office lease terminated after viral video showed him threatening a group of African American entrepreneurs working out in a Minneapolis gym.

Tom Austin was filmed questioning whether the owners of the branding agency Top Figure were allowed to use the gym of the Mozaic East building in uptown Minneapolis.

Austin accused them of trespassing on Tuesday night, the same day George Floyd died at the hands of an officer.

Austin threatened to call 911, but later called the buildings manager, who told him the men had a lease at the building, owned by the Ackerberg Group.
