A woman from Nassau County is sharing the terrifying incident of her husband being dragged into an MRI machine by a metal chain around his neck.

Keith McAllister suffered critical injuries during the incident and subsequently passed away due to those injuries, as reported by Nassau County police.

The tragic event occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury on Long Island.

Adrienne Jones-McAllister witnessed her husband approaching the table before the machine suddenly pulled him in.

According to a press release from Police in Long Island, the incident took place on July 16 at the Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, New York.

Police officers arrived at the MRI center around 4:30 p.m. in response to a 911 call. The center offers diagnostic radiology services.

Upon reaching the scene, officers were notified that a 61-year-old man had accessed an unauthorized MRI room during an ongoing scan, according to the statement.

The man had a big metal chain around his neck, which pulled him into the machine, leading to a medical incident.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and passed away from his injuries on July 17th.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the police department.

Prior to undergoing an MRI at Nassau Open MRI, it is recommended to remove any metallic items such as hearing aids, partial plates, dentures, jewelry, and hair pins as stated on their website.
