Star Witness Reveals Details in Jacksonville Rapper's Murder Trial

Barner, accused of murder alongside Ksoo, testified in court about the planned scheme, the reason for the killing, and the subsequent happenings post the crime.

This afternoon, Dominique Barner, aged 31, testified against his ex-friends Hakeem Robinson, also known as Ksoo, and Leroy Whitaker Jr. The pair faces 1st degree murder charges for the 2020 homicide of Charles McCormick Jr., also known as Lil Buck.

Barner named Hakeem Robinson and Leroy Whitaker Jr. as his companions on January 15, 2020, the day Charles McCormick Jr. was fatally shot. Robinson was identified as the gunman.

State questioning Dominique Barner:

(Dominique Barner): Yes

(Joel Cooper / Asst. State Attorney)…is that something Leroy Whitaker wanted to happen?

(Dominique Barner): Yes sir

(Dominique Barner): Yes sir

(Dominique Barner): Yes sir

(Joel Cooper / Asst. State Attorney): What was the reason that all of you wanted to kill Charles McCormick?

(Dominique Barner): Because of the diss track he made.

Barner informed the jury that in December 2019, they had planned to murder McCormick, but postponed the act until he returned to town. On January 15th, Robinson, Whitaker, and Barner allegedly trailed McCormick from his residence to the shopping plaza with the aim of ending his life.
