A Florida fight allegedly went way too far after police say a Deltona woman picked another woman up and slammed her headfirst onto the pavement, leaving the victim critically injured.
According to DeLand police, 27-year-old Tishana A. Anglade is facing felony charges following the violent confrontation in DeLand, Florida. The incident reportedly happened Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of Rich Avenue, where officers responded to reports of a physical fight involving two women.
When officers arrived, authorities say they witnessed Anglade allegedly lift the other woman off the ground before driving her headfirst into the pavement.
The impact reportedly left the victim with severe head injuries. Police said the woman was experiencing a seizure when officers arrived, and she was rushed to a hospital for treatment. According to the report, the victim remains in critical condition.
And just when police thought they had the situation under control, things allegedly got even more chaotic.
Authorities say Anglade attempted to leave the area on a scooter after the altercation. Officers reportedly pursued her and threatened to use a Taser as she allegedly attempted to get away. She was ultimately taken into custody.
Anglade reportedly gave police her side of what happened, claiming that the other woman punched her first. However, investigators are continuing to look into exactly what led to the confrontation and how the fight escalated to the point where the victim suffered such serious injuries.
Police say the investigation remains active.
Anglade is facing charges of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and resisting arrest without violence, according to FOX 35 Orlando.
The case is another reminder of how quickly an argument or physical confrontation can turn into a life-threatening situation. What may have started as a fight between two people ended with one woman hospitalized in critical condition and the other facing serious felony charges.
At this point, the allegations against Anglade are just that—allegations. She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
