No Charges Announced Yet For Woman Who Shot Man In Walmart Parking Lot.

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Authorities have not announced any criminal charges against a woman who fatally shot a 62-year-old man following a dispute over a parking space outside a Walmart in North Lauderdale, Florida.

The shooting occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the parking lot of the Walmart located on West McNab Road. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the confrontation began as a verbal argument over a parking space before escalating into a deadly encounter.

Investigators identified the victim as Bart Diguglielmo, a Lauderhill resident and retired U.S. Army staff sergeant. He was transported to Broward Health Medical Center after suffering a gunshot wound but later died from his injuries.

Officials say the woman involved remained at the scene following the shooting, cooperated with detectives, and told investigators she acted in self-defense. Authorities have not publicly released her identity.

Cellphone and dashcam video obtained by local media captured portions of the confrontation. The footage appears to show the two arguing before the woman fired a single shot. Investigators are reviewing the available video as part of the ongoing homicide investigation.

Once detectives complete their investigation, the case will be submitted to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether criminal charges are warranted. As of Thursday, prosecutors had not yet received the completed case from law enforcement.

Family members described Diguglielmo as a decorated military veteran and retired nurse, expressing disbelief that an argument over a parking space ended in tragedy. His daughter told local media she hopes her father will be remembered for who he was rather than speculation surrounding the incident.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and no further information has been released regarding potential charges or the identity of the woman involved.
