A Florida judge has denied bond for 15-year-old Jacori Redding, accused of fatally shooting 16-year-old Pinien Dalmacy following a physical altercation that began when the two teens bumped into each other in a high school hallway.
The incident took place on October 9, 2025, near Oak Ridge High School in Orlando. Investigators say Redding and Dalmacy collided in the hallway, and an argument broke out after Redding reportedly refused to apologize.
The disagreement escalated, and the teens reportedly agreed to meet at Vogt-Meloon Park for a fight. Redding allegedly brought a gun in his backpack. During the confrontation, partially captured on video by another teen, Redding is accused of shooting Dalmacy twice before fleeing back to the school, where police took him into custody.
Redding is being charged as an adult with manslaughter. His attorney claims self-defense, saying Dalmacy’s friends encouraged the fight and a struggle over the gun occurred. The judge denied bail, and Redding will remain in custody until his trial, scheduled for May 2026. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
