Alabama Man Accused of Biting Police K-9 Back During Arrest.

Florence, Ala. — A man in northern Alabama is facing multiple charges after an unusual confrontation with law enforcement that reportedly escalated to him biting a police dog during an arrest.

Authorities say David Culliver, 46, was taken into custody in Florence after allegedly interfering with an ongoing drug task force operation.

According to waff.com, Culliver was not a target of the investigation but approached the scene and began behaving erratically, at one point stepping into traffic and causing a disturbance.

Officers attempted to remove Culliver from the area, but he allegedly resisted arrest.

During the struggle, a police K-9 unit was deployed. The dog bit Culliver as officers worked to subdue him — and, in a bizarre turn, Culliver reportedly bit the dog back.

Law enforcement officials said Culliver was eventually restrained without further escalation. He now faces several charges, including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and interference with a police K-9.

Police later reviewed body camera footage of the incident and determined that the use of force by officers, including the deployment of the K-9, was justified under the circumstances.

No serious injuries to the police dog were reported. Culliver’s condition has not been publicly detailed.

The incident has drawn attention online due to its unusual nature, adding to ongoing discussions about police procedures and public behavior during active investigations.
