PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A routine traffic stop on Interstate 75 took an unusual turn when Florida Highway Patrol troopers reportedly discovered 34 open cans of White Claw inside a vehicle driven by a man suspected of driving under the influence.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on I-75 in Pasco County after a trooper observed a Honda Civic traveling at speeds exceeding 90 miles per hour.
The vehicle was stopped near mile marker 280 during a patrol operation.
Troopers said the driver, identified as 33-year-old Conor William Parady of San Antonio, Florida, showed signs of significant impairment during the traffic stop.
As the investigation continued, law enforcement officers reported finding 34 open alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle.
The discovery prompted a DUI investigation, which ultimately led to Parady’s arrest. Authorities transported him to the Pasco County Jail following the stop.
Officials later reported that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration measured 0.177, more than double Florida’s legal limit of 0.08 for motorists.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The case quickly gained attention online, with many social media users reacting to the unusually large number of open alcoholic beverage containers allegedly found inside the vehicle.
The story has since become the latest addition to the long-running collection of unusual “Florida Man” headlines that frequently attract national interest.
Under Florida law, penalties for a DUI conviction can include fines, probation, mandatory community service, license suspension, and other sanctions depending on the circumstances of the case and a driver’s prior record.
