King Harris, the son of rapper T.I., was arrested over the weekend following a traffic stop in Georgia that escalated into a multi-charge incident, according to police and newly surfaced body camera footage.
Authorities say the stop was initiated after Harris was allegedly driving well above the posted speed limit. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed what appeared to be a firearm in plain view on the dashboard, along with an open container suspected to contain THC.
Bodycam footage from the scene shows officers instructing Harris to exit the vehicle multiple times. The interaction appears to grow tense as Harris initially refuses to comply, questioning the officers’ commands while remaining inside the car. After repeated directives, officers ultimately remove him from the vehicle, leading to an obstruction charge.
During the arrest process, officers conducted a search and later reported discovering a pill believed to be oxycodone while Harris was being booked. This discovery resulted in an additional felony drug possession charge.
The footage also captures the aftermath of the arrest, including the arrival of Harris’ father, T.I., who is seen engaging in a conversation with officers at the scene.
Harris now faces multiple charges, including speeding, obstruction of law enforcement, and possession of a controlled substance. As of now, it is unclear whether he has secured legal representation or when his next court appearance will take place.
The incident has quickly gained traction online, with clips of the bodycam footage circulating widely across social media platforms, sparking debate over the interaction and the charges filed.
