A meeting at a Florida hotel took a violent turn when a man allegedly ran over a woman after she declined his request to smell her feet, according to police.
According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, the incident took place around 2 p.m. on August 24 at the Serena Hotel in Aventura, roughly 20 miles north of Miami. The victim told police that she had started chatting with a man named Elmoncy Sercle on the dating app Seeking, and the two arranged to meet at the hotel.
Once she arrived at the hotel room, 28-year-old Sercle reportedly asked if he could smell her feet and offered to purchase her worn shoes.
According to the affidavit, the victim told Sercle that it would cost him $1,000, explaining that she’s a foot model and that’s her standard rate.
She said the sneakers were in her car and that she needed to retrieve them. While on her way to the restroom, she reportedly saw Sercle flee the room. Believing he had stolen something from her, she chased him to the parking garage, the affidavit states.
When she reached the parking garage, she saw Sercle in a red Mercedes SUV. He reportedly drove past her, then stopped, made a sudden turn, and ran her over, according to police. The victim sustained road rash and bruises on her back, arms, and chest, injuries that required immediate medical treatment.
Sercle has since been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 29.
