A 24-year-old man has been sentenced after a deadly 2025 incident in East Cleveland in which he killed two family members and later shot two responding police officers, authorities confirmed.
Aaron Sharp was sentenced following his guilty plea to multiple felony charges, including murder and attempted aggravated murder of a peace officer, in connection with the violent Aug. 7, 2025 incident on North Taylor Road in East Cleveland.
According to court records and investigators, East Cleveland police were dispatched to a home in the 1900 block of North Taylor Road around 11 p.m. for a reported domestic disturbance.
When officers entered the residence, they discovered two victims inside: 82-year-old Charlie Roscoe, Sharp’s grandfather, and 22-year-old Erik Sharp, his brother. Both had been fatally shot.
The scene quickly escalated when officers attempted to secure the area.
After locating the victims inside the home, officers exited the residence and were met with gunfire from Sharp, who opened fire from outside the home.
Two East Cleveland police officers were struck during the shooting. Officer Brandon Hernandez and Officer Joshua Durda both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to University Hospitals for treatment.
Both officers survived their injuries.
