Mother of Kodak Black’s Child Arrested in Fort Lauderdale on Drug and Traffic Charges

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A woman who shares a child with South Florida rapper Kodak Black was arrested this week in Fort Lauderdale on multiple charges, according to police and jail records.

Authorities identified the woman as Jammiah Catera Broomfield, 28, who was taken into custody by Fort Lauderdale Police on Tuesday.

Police say she attempted to flee during stop

According to an arrest report, officers attempted to stop Broomfield after recognizing her vehicle from a prior incident. Police say she allegedly tried to evade the stop, driving erratically before eventually abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Officers later caught up with her nearby and placed her under arrest.

Charges include drug trafficking and resisting arrest

Broomfield faces several charges, including:

Trafficking in methamphetamine
Driving with a suspended or revoked license
Resisting an officer without violence
Probation violation

Police reported that a substance recovered from the vehicle tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the arrest affidavit.

Broomfield is identified in public records and previous reporting as the mother of one of Kodak Black’s children.

The rapper, a prominent figure in the South Florida hip-hop scene, has had multiple legal issues in the past, keeping his personal life frequently in the public spotlight.

Court proceedings are expected to follow as the investigation continues. It was not immediately clear whether Broomfield has entered a plea or retained legal representation.
