Two sisters are facing serious felony charges after prosecutors say a dispute over a wrong food order escalated into a violent attack on a restaurant worker in Detroit.
According to court documents and police reports, the incident occurred on May 30, 2026, at a chicken restaurant on the city’s east side. The suspects, identified as Kierianna Long, 26, and Brianna Long, 29, were in the drive-through when they allegedly received an incorrect order.
Prosecutors say the situation quickly intensified when the sisters exited their vehicle, entered the restaurant, and confronted a 23-year-old employee. The argument reportedly turned physical after the sisters went behind the counter and began attacking the worker.
During the altercation, the sisters allegedly threw items including pots and pans and attempted to throw hot grease at the employee, according to multiple reports. Witness accounts cited in court documents also indicate that one of the sisters threatened the worker, allegedly saying, “I’m going to kill you.”
At some point during the struggle, a knife was thrown into the chaos. Prosecutors allege that one of the sisters picked up the weapon and stabbed the employee in the stomach.
The injured worker managed to flee the restaurant and reportedly sought help by hiding in a stranger’s vehicle to call 911. Emergency responders transported her to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery for her injuries.
Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s name.
Police say the sisters fled the scene following the attack but were later taken into custody.
Both Kierianna and Brianna Long have been charged with:
Assault with intent to murder
Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder
Felonious assault
They have both pleaded not guilty.
During a recent arraignment, defense attorneys for the sisters claimed the restaurant employee was the initial aggressor and alleged she made dismissive remarks about the wrong order. Prosecutors dispute that account based on witness statements and evidence presented in court filings.
It was also revealed during court proceedings that Brianna Long was nine months pregnant at the time of the incident and gave birth just days before her arraignment.
The case remains ongoing, with both defendants being held on bond while awaiting further court dates.
Authorities continue to review surveillance footage, witness statements, and physical evidence as the case moves forward through the court system.
